My experience with Northside Plastic Surgery was very pleasant and successful with the results I had hoped for. The office was serenely beautiful, clean and quiet. I never had to wait to be seen and the entire staff was always friendly, helpful and pleasant. - P. C.

What does neck liposuction in Atlanta with Dr. Majmundar entail?

Our neck liposuction in Atlanta and Alpharetta is a commonly performed procedure locally and nationwide. It is a fairly minimally invasive procedure with high yield results and little downtime. Neck liposuction is performed under local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia. Because the neck needs to be numbed before the procedure begins, having some form of sedation is recommended.

Once anesthetized, a small incision is made under the chin, and depending on the person, behind the ear lobes on both sides, to give a nice improvement in not just the neckline but also the jawline. Once finished, the neck wrap is placed around the head overnight. The surgery is performed on an outpatient basis in our fully accredited ambulatory surgery center and the patient returns to see us the next morning.

Am I a good candidate for neck liposuction?

Determining whether or not you are a candidate is essential. Neck liposuction candidates are under the age of 45 for Caucasians, and under 47-48 for darker skin types, and have mild to moderate fullness under their chin, also called a double chin. Many of these same patients have a recessed chin or may claim that they’ve never had a neck; these patients may do well with some form of chin augmentation in addition to neck liposuction if Dr. Majmundar feels this would provide your face with a better balance, especially on profile view.

Alternatives, such as CoolSculpting and Kybella can be discussed as nonsurgical alternatives to removing chin fat. These can be combined with ultherapy and fillers to tighten neck skin and provide a sharper chin and jawline, respectively, as well.

What are some of the benefits of neck liposuction?

  • A more youthful aesthetic
  • A slimmer, more toned profile
  • Reduction of a double chin
  • Streamlined jaw
  • A boost in self-confidence
  • Natural-looking outcome
  • Long-lasting results

What can I expect from my recovery?

Downtime is usually 5-7 days for bruising to subside and to be socially presentable. Neck liposuction is a highly gratifying procedure because it usually takes 30 minutes to perform and yields a great result with little downtime. For those who can’t afford a week off, alternatives such as coolsculpting maybe an option.

What is the cost of neck liposuction?

Dr. Majmundar will determine the cost of your neck liposuction after conducting a confidential consultation in the privacy of his Atlanta offices. Costs will vary from client to client based on the complexity of the treatment, and on whether any additional procedures are performed in tandem, such as a neck lift, a face lift or chin augmentation, for instance. Our office will help you with financing options.

Why choose Dr. Majmundar for neck liposuction?

Dr. Majmundar offers both surgical and nonsurgical options to address your neckline and jawline. As such, he can use a customized approach to get you the best result. Frequently, coolsculpting can be combined with fillers and ultherapy to decrease fatty tissue, tighten the neck skin, and provide a sharper chin and jawline.

Dr. Majmundar graduated in the top 10% of his class at the Medical College of Georgia and is a longstanding member of the American Association of Facial and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery.

Re-Opening May 4th Update:

As a valued member of the Northside Plastic Surgery family, I want to personally update you on steps our practice has taken to protect you and your health in light of the COVID-19 situation.

As it has always been, the safety and health of our patients and team members remains our highest priority. As your physician, I want to thank you for your support and the confidence you have in our practice. In response to the coronavirus, we have taken the basic CDC recommendations and have added the following extra measures to protect our patients:

  1. We are waiving our $150 fee for Virtual Consultations for new and established patients.
  2. We ask all patients to stay in their car and call us upon arrival. Once on-site, your temperature will be taken along with a screening questionnaire, you will be provided hand sanitizer, and then escorted directly to an exam room or empty reception area. We ask all patients to wear a surgical mask or face covering to their appointment. As a high-end practice, we are taking advantage of our large size and multiple VIP waiting areas to maximize social distancing.
  3. We are performing regular and careful screening of patients with a bias for suspicion that a patient might have the coronavirus.
  4. All staff are screened daily with a temperature check and symptom survey. All staff are required to wear a surgical mask, gloves, and perform frequent hand washing.
  5. We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas hourly (including lobbies, furniture, elevators, door handles, exam chairs, public bathrooms, etc.) and have continued the use of hospital-grade disinfectant. All exam rooms and highly touched surfaces are sanitized in between patients.
  6. Because of the increased sanitizing requirements, we have reduced the number of patients that will be seen every hour and spacing out appointments.
  7. Since we have our own fully accredited on-site surgery center, we do not have actively infected patients using our operating rooms such as in hospitals. This provides a great security blanket for our patients. We are currently performing at full capacity and completely prepared to perform all scheduled surgeries and procedures and are taking all necessary precautions to ensure your safety and well-being.
  8. We are postponing all advanced training sessions for visiting physicians and providers until June.
  9. We ask that all patients with upper respiratory symptoms such as cough, fever, shortness of breath to please reschedule your appointments and call your family doctor.
  10. For more, you can always find up-to-date and accurate information on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website.

Thank you for being a loyal patient. We will remain attentive to this situation and keep you updated on any changes with the practice. We are privileged to serve you and look forward to seeing you soon.
