What is a non-surgical rhinoplasty?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty, also known as the MM nose lift, is performed by Dr. Mike Majmundar, a double board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon for the patients of Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, and the surrounding communities in Georgia. Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures in Atlanta and the rest of the country.

Its purpose is to correct or reconstruct the nose for aesthetics, function or both. However, many people who wish to improve their nose do not want to undergo a surgical procedure and the downtime that is necessary for recovery. Thanks to the evolution of injectable materials, and the experience and skill of facial plastic surgeons, a non-surgical rhinoplasty can achieve major improvements with a minor, in-office treatment and little to no downtime.

Am I a candidate for a non-surgical rhinoplasty?

If you are unhappy with the shape or size of your nose or the results of a previous rhinoplasty procedure, non-surgical rhinoplasty, also known as the MM nose lift, could be the answer.

Using fillers and/or volumizers, it is possible to erase a hump, raise a nasal bridge or hide an irregularity of the tip. Depending on the nose, length can also be added and/or the nasal tip can be raised.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a great option for someone who cannot afford a lengthy healing period, as the non-surgical procedure is performed in the office with local anesthesia in under 10 minutes. There is little to no discomfort and minimal downtime.

How does a non-surgical rhinoplasty work?

A non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure uses injectable fillers to correct nasal grooves, dents, depressions, deviations, bends and other irregularities. Depending on the nose, length can also be added and/or the nasal tip can be raised.

It is also a great alternative for those seeking revision rhinoplasty in order to correct a small irregularity or for those seeking their first rhinoplasty for a minor change. The type of injectables used depends on the skin type, previous surgery, location and type of correction.

The procedure is accomplished in the office with a local anesthetic in about 10 minutes. You can return to normal activities immediately afterward. Our Vectra XT 3D simulation device can show you the result of your MM nose lift before having the procedure performed.

What can I expect from recovery?

The greatest benefit to non-surgical rhinoplasty, also known as the MM nose lift, is that it requires minimal downtime, and you will experience minimal discomfort and occasional mild bruising, or swelling. You may return to your normal activities within 24 hours following the procedure.

  • Procedure length: Approx. 10 minutes
  • Anesthesia: Local
  • Recovery: Minimal

What is the cost of a non-surgical rhinoplasty?

Fees for a non-surgical rhinoplasty will vary from client to client, because some will need more work done than others. Undergoing additional procedures such as ultherapy or a non-surgical facelift at the same time will also affect the cost, so the best way to assess the financial aspect of treatment is to attend a confidential consultation with Dr. Majmundar in Alpharetta or Atlanta. You will receive a full quote, as well as information on financing options from a variety of healthcare lenders.

Re-Opening May 4th Update:

As a valued member of the Northside Plastic Surgery family, I want to personally update you on steps our practice has taken to protect you and your health in light of the COVID-19 situation.

As it has always been, the safety and health of our patients and team members remains our highest priority. As your physician, I want to thank you for your support and the confidence you have in our practice. In response to the coronavirus, we have taken the basic CDC recommendations and have added the following extra measures to protect our patients:

  1. We are waiving our $150 fee for Virtual Consultations for new and established patients.
  2. We ask all patients to stay in their car and call us upon arrival. Once on-site, your temperature will be taken along with a screening questionnaire, you will be provided hand sanitizer, and then escorted directly to an exam room or empty reception area. We ask all patients to wear a surgical mask or face covering to their appointment. As a high-end practice, we are taking advantage of our large size and multiple VIP waiting areas to maximize social distancing.
  3. We are performing regular and careful screening of patients with a bias for suspicion that a patient might have the coronavirus.
  4. All staff are screened daily with a temperature check and symptom survey. All staff are required to wear a surgical mask, gloves, and perform frequent hand washing.
  5. We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas hourly (including lobbies, furniture, elevators, door handles, exam chairs, public bathrooms, etc.) and have continued the use of hospital-grade disinfectant. All exam rooms and highly touched surfaces are sanitized in between patients.
  6. Because of the increased sanitizing requirements, we have reduced the number of patients that will be seen every hour and spacing out appointments.
  7. Since we have our own fully accredited on-site surgery center, we do not have actively infected patients using our operating rooms such as in hospitals. This provides a great security blanket for our patients. We are currently performing at full capacity and completely prepared to perform all scheduled surgeries and procedures and are taking all necessary precautions to ensure your safety and well-being.
  8. We are postponing all advanced training sessions for visiting physicians and providers until June.
  9. We ask that all patients with upper respiratory symptoms such as cough, fever, shortness of breath to please reschedule your appointments and call your family doctor.
  10. For more, you can always find up-to-date and accurate information on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website.

Thank you for being a loyal patient. We will remain attentive to this situation and keep you updated on any changes with the practice. We are privileged to serve you and look forward to seeing you soon.
