What is Vaser Lipo?

Vaser Lipo is a revolutionary development in aesthetic technology. This advanced liposuction system out-performs traditional liposuction systems in removing excess fat and shaping a slimmer body. Similar to our traditional liposuction in Atlanta, GA in that fat is removed with suction, Vaser Lipo has some significant differences.

How is Vaser Lipo Different?

It requires the use of a smaller cannula (hollow needle used for fat extraction) and the use of ultrasound to loosen and free fat cells from the surrounding tissues. This process is gentler and less invasive, a truly precision body sculpting system. Vaser Lipo is effective on most areas of the body, including thighs, arms, abdomen, back, love handles, knees and neck.

How Does Vaser Lipo Work?

Vaser Lipo works by using ultrasonic soundwaves to loosen and release fat deposits. Once the fat cells have been loosened, a small cannula is used to gently extract excess fat. This procedure is less damaging to the surrounding tissues and produces less bruising and bleeding than traditional liposuction.

What is the Procedure?

Vaser Lipo does not require the use of general anesthesia. Instead, a tumescent (causing swelling) solution is injected into the target area. This solution is primarily a saline solution combined with anesthetic to numb the area. Once the solution is administered, a small probe is inserted which uses ultrasound technology to loosen the targeted fat cells from the surrounding tissue. After the fat has been loosened, it is gently removed via suction. The incisions necessary for this treatment are only a few millimeters in size, healing to being almost impossible to see, if at all.

What are the Benefits of Vaser Lipo?

Vaser Lipo offers many benefits for patients who seek advanced body sculpting through fat removal, including:

  • Reduced recovery time compared to traditional liposuction
  • Precision body sculpting technique
  • No need for general anesthesia
  • Able to sculpt a smoother and more attractive body shape
  • Less damage to healthy tissues

Am I a Candidate for Vaser Lipo?

Ideal candidates for Vaser Lipo are in relatively good health, non-smokers or willing to quit, and are at close to an ideal weight. Vaser Lipo is not a weight loss technique, but a system to remove stubborn fatty deposits that diet and exercise cannot resolve. Ideal candidates want to lose a few inches around the waist, smooth love handles, or reduce fat on arms, thighs, chin, back, neck, or other body area.

What is the Recovery Time?

Recovery from Vaser Lipo occurs within the first week if a larger area or multiple areas were treated, or just a few days for smaller areas. Recovery may require a taking a day or two off work to allow your body time to heal. There may be bruising and swelling that will subside over the first week or two, along with minor discomfort that is easily managed with mild pain medication. Our experienced surgeon, Dr. Klein, will provide you with full aftercare instructions and monitor your recovery.

Re-Opening May 4th Update:

As a valued member of the Northside Plastic Surgery family, I want to personally update you on steps our practice has taken to protect you and your health in light of the COVID-19 situation.

As it has always been, the safety and health of our patients and team members remains our highest priority. As your physician, I want to thank you for your support and the confidence you have in our practice. In response to the coronavirus, we have taken the basic CDC recommendations and have added the following extra measures to protect our patients:

  1. We are waiving our $150 fee for Virtual Consultations for new and established patients.
  2. We ask all patients to stay in their car and call us upon arrival. Once on-site, your temperature will be taken along with a screening questionnaire, you will be provided hand sanitizer, and then escorted directly to an exam room or empty reception area. We ask all patients to wear a surgical mask or face covering to their appointment. As a high-end practice, we are taking advantage of our large size and multiple VIP waiting areas to maximize social distancing.
  3. We are performing regular and careful screening of patients with a bias for suspicion that a patient might have the coronavirus.
  4. All staff are screened daily with a temperature check and symptom survey. All staff are required to wear a surgical mask, gloves, and perform frequent hand washing.
  5. We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas hourly (including lobbies, furniture, elevators, door handles, exam chairs, public bathrooms, etc.) and have continued the use of hospital-grade disinfectant. All exam rooms and highly touched surfaces are sanitized in between patients.
  6. Because of the increased sanitizing requirements, we have reduced the number of patients that will be seen every hour and spacing out appointments.
  7. Since we have our own fully accredited on-site surgery center, we do not have actively infected patients using our operating rooms such as in hospitals. This provides a great security blanket for our patients. We are currently performing at full capacity and completely prepared to perform all scheduled surgeries and procedures and are taking all necessary precautions to ensure your safety and well-being.
  8. We are postponing all advanced training sessions for visiting physicians and providers until June.
  9. We ask that all patients with upper respiratory symptoms such as cough, fever, shortness of breath to please reschedule your appointments and call your family doctor.
  10. For more, you can always find up-to-date and accurate information on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website.

Thank you for being a loyal patient. We will remain attentive to this situation and keep you updated on any changes with the practice. We are privileged to serve you and look forward to seeing you soon.
