Where can I find a natural brow lift in Atlanta?
Dr. Mike Majmundar, double board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and Dr. Lipin perform natural brow lifts for the residents of Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, and the surrounding communities in Georgia. Everything from the environment to genetics can result in wrinkling or sagging of the skin across the forehead. This ultimately increases heaviness of the eyebrows. As a result, people (no matter what age) look older than their actual years. They may be perceived as tired, angry or sad, even though they do not actually feel these emotions.
In an effort to correct this, many opt for a procedure known as a forehead lift or brow lift. As with all elective surgery, good health and realistic expectations are prerequisites. When Dr. Majmundar and Dr. Lipin tighten loose skin and removes the excess; forehead wrinkling and drooping brows are diminished. If needed, part of the muscle that causes vertical frown lines between the brows can be removed, which results in a smoother brow and a more youthful expression.
What are some of the benefits of a brow lift?
- A more friendly, pleasant facial expression
- Correction of wrinkles, fine lines and creases
- A more attractive smile
- A boost in self-confidence
- A better first impression
- Long-lasting outcome
- Elegant, natural-looking results
- Improved vision in some cases
Is a natural brow lift right for me?
To see what a forehead lift can do for your face, put your hands above your brows and outside the edges of your eyes. Gently raise the skin upwards. If you have a sagging brow or deep furrows between the eyes, then you may be a good candidate for a forehead lift. This procedure is usually done after age 40, although it may be necessary at an earlier age. Whether you are having surgery for functional or cosmetic reasons, your choice of a qualified facial plastic surgeon is important. During your consultation, Dr. Majmundar and Dr. Lipin will examine your facial structure, the condition of your skin, and your hairline. At that time, your medical history will be thoroughly reviewed so that we can consider any medical conditions that may heighten surgical risks. Dr. Majmundar and Dr. Lipin will then discuss the procedure, risks and alternatives to the procedure.
What type of brow lift will be performed?
Dr. Majmundar and Dr. Lipin perform 9 different types of browlifts. Which lift is best for you depends on how you are aging. The most common browlift is a minibrowlift which uses a minimally invasive approach with 2 small incisions to lift the brow and smooth forehead lines.
The advantage of this type of brow lift is that once the incisions heal, they become inconspicuous. This procedure is less invasive and is associated with a smaller risk of scarring and temporary scalp numbness. If the patient has a receding hairline or is balding, other types of brow lifts can be performed to hide the incisions and still achieve a natural lift.
What can I expect from my recovery?
Most patients experience a certain amount of swelling and bruising within 7 to 10 days following surgery. The sutures are removed at seven days. Many times, a harmonious rejuvenation can be achieved when a natural brow lift is combined with a blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) or natural facelift.
- Surgery: Outpatient
- Anesthesia: IV sedation or general anesthesia
- Procedure length: 1 hour
- Recovery: On average, 7-10 days
