Where can I find a natural brow lift in Atlanta?

Dr. Mike Majmundar, double board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, performs natural brow lifts for the residents of Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, and the surrounding communities in Georgia. Everything from the environment to genetics can result in wrinkling or sagging of the skin across the forehead. This ultimately increases heaviness of the eyebrows. As a result, people (no matter what age) look older than their actual years. They may be perceived as tired, angry or sad, even though they do not actually feel these emotions.

In an effort to correct this, many opt for a procedure known as a forehead lift or brow lift. As with all elective surgery, good health and realistic expectations are prerequisites. When Dr. Majmundar tightens loose skin and removes the excess; forehead wrinkling and drooping brows are diminished. If needed, part of the muscle that causes vertical frown lines between the brows can be removed, which results in a smoother brow and a more youthful expression.

What are some of the benefits of a brow lift?

  • A more friendly, pleasant facial expression
  • Correction of wrinkles, fine lines and creases
  • A more attractive smile
  • A boost in self-confidence
  • A better first impression
  • Long-lasting outcome
  • Elegant, natural-looking results
  • Improved vision in some cases

Is a natural brow lift right for me?

To see what a forehead lift can do for your face, put your hands above your brows and outside the edges of your eyes. Gently raise the skin upwards. If you have a sagging brow or deep furrows between the eyes, then you may be a good candidate for a forehead lift. This procedure is usually done after age 40, although it may be necessary at an earlier age. Whether you are having surgery for functional or cosmetic reasons, your choice of a qualified facial plastic surgeon is important. During your consultation, Dr. Majmundar will examine your facial structure, the condition of your skin, and your hairline. At that time, your medical history will be thoroughly reviewed so that we can consider any medical conditions that may heighten surgical risks. Dr. Majmundar will then discuss the procedure, risks and alternatives to the procedure.

What type of brow lift will be performed?

Dr. Majmundar performs 9 different types of browlifts. Which lift is best for you depends on how you are aging. The most common browlift is a minibrowlift which uses a minimally invasive approach with 2 small incisions to lift the brow and smooth forehead lines.

The advantage of this type of brow lift is that once the incisions heal, they become inconspicuous. This procedure is less invasive and is associated with a smaller risk of scarring and temporary scalp numbness. If the patient has a receding hairline or is balding, other types of brow lifts can be performed to hide the incisions and still achieve a natural lift.

What can I expect from my recovery?

Most patients experience a certain amount of swelling and bruising within 7 to 10 days following surgery. The sutures are removed at seven days. Many times, a harmonious rejuvenation can be achieved when a natural brow lift is combined with a blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) or natural facelift.

  • Surgery: Outpatient
  • Anesthesia: IV sedation or general anesthesia
  • Procedure length: 1 hour
  • Recovery: On average, 7-10 days

Re-Opening May 4th! Practice Update View Update Virtual Consultation

Re-Opening May 4th Update:

As a valued member of the Northside Plastic Surgery family, I want to personally update you on steps our practice has taken to protect you and your health in light of the COVID-19 situation.

As it has always been, the safety and health of our patients and team members remains our highest priority. As your physician, I want to thank you for your support and the confidence you have in our practice. In response to the coronavirus, we have taken the basic CDC recommendations and have added the following extra measures to protect our patients:

  1. We are waiving our $150 fee for Virtual Consultations for new and established patients.
  2. We ask all patients to stay in their car and call us upon arrival. Once on-site, your temperature will be taken along with a screening questionnaire, you will be provided hand sanitizer, and then escorted directly to an exam room or empty reception area. We ask all patients to wear a surgical mask or face covering to their appointment. As a high-end practice, we are taking advantage of our large size and multiple VIP waiting areas to maximize social distancing.
  3. We are performing regular and careful screening of patients with a bias for suspicion that a patient might have the coronavirus.
  4. All staff are screened daily with a temperature check and symptom survey. All staff are required to wear a surgical mask, gloves, and perform frequent hand washing.
  5. We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas hourly (including lobbies, furniture, elevators, door handles, exam chairs, public bathrooms, etc.) and have continued the use of hospital-grade disinfectant. All exam rooms and highly touched surfaces are sanitized in between patients.
  6. Because of the increased sanitizing requirements, we have reduced the number of patients that will be seen every hour and spacing out appointments.
  7. Since we have our own fully accredited on-site surgery center, we do not have actively infected patients using our operating rooms such as in hospitals. This provides a great security blanket for our patients. We are currently performing at full capacity and completely prepared to perform all scheduled surgeries and procedures and are taking all necessary precautions to ensure your safety and well-being.
  8. We are postponing all advanced training sessions for visiting physicians and providers until June.
  9. We ask that all patients with upper respiratory symptoms such as cough, fever, shortness of breath to please reschedule your appointments and call your family doctor.
  10. For more, you can always find up-to-date and accurate information on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website.

Thank you for being a loyal patient. We will remain attentive to this situation and keep you updated on any changes with the practice. We are privileged to serve you and look forward to seeing you soon.
