Radiesse for Hands FDA approved
Radiesse for Hands now FDA approved
Radiesse, which recently launched its newer product Radiesse Plus which contains the same ingredients with the addition of lidocaine, was FDA approved last week for use in hand rejuvenation. We have been using Radiesse for hands, in an off label capacity, for years but we finally have the backing of the FDA as a safe option to rejuvenate the hands.
Radiesse for hands improves crepey or loose skin on the back of hands and also can help minimize the appearance of unsightly veins. It does not change the quality of the skin or change the color of the skin or improved brown spots, but Radiesse for hands can help the hands look fuller with less loose skin.
The filler can be performed all at once on both hands or one hand at a time. It generally takes a minimum of one syringe per hand, though most individuals will need approximately 3 syringes total.
The hands can swell for 3-5 days after the injection which is why some patients opt to perform each hand separately but it may be better to have both performed at the same time to overlap the mild recovery. There is minimal to no discomfort and the results can last 9-12 months.
