The advantages of looking vital, youthful, and energetic are clear in a man\u2019s life. Everyone with whom we seek to ally, team-up and collaborate \u2013 from employers and business partners to romantic and life partners \u2013 is evaluating us consciously or unconsciously. And a major element in what magnetizes us in those ongoing evaluations is our appearance.<\/p>\n

Still, men have come to plastic surgery as a useful tool in achieving or enhancing these advantages later than women.<\/p>\n

Why Men Caught on Later<\/h3>\n

In earlier centuries, men were either born into advantages or else engaged in work that didn\u2019t depend on appearance to achieve them. This heritage of acting as if appearance was unimportant stayed with us long after it stopped being true.<\/p>\n

In fact, part of what stuck with us was the idea that not seeming to care about appearance was part of being manly.
