Lifestyle Lift Closed
Lifestyle Lift, a nationwide chain of cosmetic surgery centers, abruptly shut down the majority of its business in early March and said it is considering filing for bankruptcy per the Wall Street Journal. The Lifestyle Lift touted a facelift in an hour with real facelift results. It was a great business idea but really undermined many other plastic surgery practices by cutting cost in exchange for volume. Based on anecdotal evidence in my practice, it seemed they had issues with providing consistent results, over promising results, and having aggressive sales tactics.
In a letter to employees sent early March, and reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, Dr. Kent said the company “has made the decision to temporarily cease operations until further notice.” The letter tells employees not to report to work “until further notice unless otherwise instructed.”
The lifestyle lift, a trademarked version of our Natural mini-facelift (www.atlantaminifacelift.com), performed heavy advertising for a version of a procedure most plastic surgeons provide; specifically, a mini-facelift performed under local anesthesia with less downtime.
What really happened ‘on the inside’ will remain to be seen but, per the Wall Street Journal, they owed a significant amount of money to JP Morgan Chase. As is true with most things in plastic surgery, you truly get what you pay for.
