Facial Reconstructive Surgery Program: FACE to FACE
FACE to FACE
October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and Dr. Majmundar is a participant in the FACE to FACE program that offers free facial reconstructive surgery to victims of domestic violence. He is also a sponsor of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence that states 24 people are subject to domestic violence or sexual assault every minute. The national movement known as NO MORE uses celebrity personalities to increase awareness of this invisible entity throughout the country. Visit nomore.org to join this movement.
The most commonly treated injuries from domestic violence include lacerations, facial scars, nasal fractures and deformities, and rarely, orbital fractures. The emotional scars, however, are much more difficult to treat than physical scars.
Purple is the color of choice for this organization and people wearing purple bows, pins, or bracelets support this cause this month and every month.
