Introducing Latisse - Get Longer, Fuller, and Darker Eyelashes!
Latisse is the first and only FDA approved prescription treatment for eyelash growth making your eyelashes longer, thicker, and darker. Research suggests that the growth of the eyelashes occurs by increasing percent of hairs in, and the duration of, the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker, and darker because bimatoprost can also prolong the growth phase. Latisse is a once-a-day treatment you apply yourself each evening to the base of the upper eyelashes. Full instructions on how to apply the treatment are included with each prescription. Results are gradual beginning at 4 weeks with full results occurring after 12 weeks. Call Northside Facial Cosmetic Surgery for your Latisse kit.
We are excited to introduce Sculptra, The Liquid Facelift! (February 2009)
Sculptra is not a wrinkle filler, it's a facial volumizer. As we age, we lose elasticity in our skin causing sag but we also lose soft tissue volume in the form of fat and bone causing "deflation" of the facial infrastructure that makes the sagging effect of the skin worse. We also know that round faces look younger than hollow or sunken faces. Using Sculptra, we can restore youthful facial contours by filling under the skin so that it inflates or "lifts" the facial tissues. Sculptra does this by the formation of your body’s own collagen…collagen that is created by surrounding the microscopic particles that make up Sculptra. Also, the volume enhancement achieved by Sculptra lasts at least 2 years but may last longer. That's why the introduction of a volumizer such as Sculptra is an exciting event.
Sculptra does not give results immediately. There is a time factor involved since the true volume effect is created by your own collagen, not the product itself. Some patients achieve the desired results as quickly as 3 months though it may take up to 6 months for most patients. Most patients need 2-3 treatments spread 8-12 weeks apart. You can expect the results to last at least 2 years from the last treatment. No skin testing is required.
As with all other injections there can be temporary swelling, redness, and bruising. Otherwise, there is no 'downtime'. Other risks include the temporary but rare appearance of small bumps that can be felt, but usually not seen, which resolve spontaneously over a period of weeks.
Introducing our new MicroPeels (December 2008)
As the first plastic surgery practice to bring the patented MicroPeel by La Roche-Posay to Georgia, we are excited to introduce these 'no downtime' yet result-oriented chemical peels to our patients.
Unlike other 'no downtime' peels, the MicroPeel combines a patented mechanical exfoliation process followed by a medical grade chemical peel. The initial exfoliation process allows the peel to penetrate deeper without the associated downtime of deeper peels allowing greater results.
As an excellent exfoliant, MicroPeels help soften fine lines, lighten brown spots, and control breakouts and acne. Even after a single treatment, patients will notice smoother and more radiant skin; however, continued treatments on a monthly basis for a minimum of 4-6 months provide the greatest results with improvement in brown spots, fine lines, skin texture, and overall skin health. These popular peels are a great addition to any skin care regimen and can be performed on any skin type including sensitive or dark skin with minimal downtime and tangible results. |
