Sculptra® is not just a wrinkle filler, it is also a facial volumizer. Using Sculptra, we can restore youthful facial contours by filling under the skin so that it inflates or "lifts" the facial tissues. Also known as the "Liquid Facelift", Sculptra does this by the formation of your body's own collagen.collagen that is created by surrounding the microscopic particles that make up Sculptra. It provides global rejuvenation to the temples, laugh lines, sagging cheek tissues, and around the eyes. Also, the volume enhancement achieved by Sculptra lasts at least 2 years but may last longer. No skin testing is required.

Sculptra does not give results immediately. There is a time factor involved since the true volume effect is created by your own collagen, not the product itself. Some patients achieve the desired results as quickly as 3 months though it may take up to 6 months for most patients. Most patients need 2-3 treatments spread 8-10 weeks apart. You can expect the results to last at least 2 years from the last treatment.

As with all other injections there can be temporary swelling, redness, and bruising. Other risks include the temporary but rare appearance of small bumps that can be felt, but usually not seen, which resolve spontaneously over a period of weeks. You will be provided with an ice pack after your treatment to use the remainder of the day and asked to massage the treated areas several times a day. You may use your makeup and sunscreen immediately after treatment. (TOP)
