- MicroPeel
MicroPeel
MicroPeels are patented no-downtime chemical peels developed by La Roche-Posay to improve overall skin tone, texture, and vibrancy. Only offered by a handful of plastic surgeons in Georgia, MicroPeels combine a patented dermaplaning process, which provides an initial mechanical exfoliation, followed by an even application of a chemical exfoliant. These peels are ideal skin enhancing treatments for busy individuals who cannot afford the downtime of deeper skin resurfacing techniques, such as laser resurfacing or dermabrasion, but still want to improve their overall skin health and appearance. As an excellent exfoliant, they help soften fine lines, lighten brown spots, and control breakouts and acne. These popular peels are a great addition to any skin care regimen and can be performed on any skin type including sensitive or dark skin with minimal downtime and tangible results.

- Dry Skin
Dry Skin
Of all skin types, dry skin has the highest propensity to look aged and become aged. As a result, it's important to trust your skin to a facial skin specialist. A daily skin care regimen including a gentle exfoliating cleanser, a restorative and hydrating toner, a moisturizing facial treatment, and a nongreasy, hypoallergenic sunscreen such as that in our La Roche-Posay skin care line is the minimum for this skin type. Dr. Majmundar also recommends incorporating a daily prescription-strength skin treatment in the above regimen to prevent and reverse signs of premature aging including fine lines, brown spots, broken capillaries, skin redness, and coarse skin.
Combining your daily skin care regimen with a "no downtime" chemical peel every 4-6 weeks maximizes your skin's potential for optimum skin health and youthfulness. These peels are performed by Dr. Majmundar himself so he can assess your skin health on a monthly basis and tailor your treatment to your skin type.

- Oily and Acne Prone Skin
Oily and Acne Prone Skin
As many people know, acne and acne prone skin can be difficult to treat. As a result, it's important to trust your skin to a facial skin specialist. We recommend a daily skin care regimen using our La Roche-Posay skin care line that includes a gentle facial cleanser and a light toner mist that soothes the skin followed by a light moisturizing acne treatment which helps treat acne and minimize further breakouts while providing a light, nonocclusive moisturizer to minimize the number of skin products used. Finally, and most importantly, we advise our patients to use a light, nongreasy, noncomedogenic, nonacnegenic sunscreen, such as the one found in our skin care line that can help prevent acne, brown spots, and help improve rosacea. To maximize control of acne and breakouts, it is helpful to combine this skin care regimen with a monthly superficial chemical peel.
Ethnic skin is frequently oily and needs special attention to prevent worsening of skin discoloration, dark circles around the eyes, acne, and a constant facial shine. The above skin care regimen can be used in combination with various skin lighteners for discoloration and mattifying agents to help prevent the afternoon facial shine.
Combining your daily skin care regimen with a "no downtime" chemical peel every 4-6 weeks maximizes your skin's potential for optimum skin health and youthfulness. Popular among individuals with oily skin, these superficial peels can be performed on any skin type including dark skin and are an excellent exfoliant and help soften fine lines, lighten brown spots, and control breakouts and acne. These peels are performed by Dr. Majmundar himself so he can assess your skin health on a monthly basis and tailor the treatments to your skin type.

- Sensitive Skin
Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin usually refers to individuals whose skin easily reacts to irritants such as detergents, makeup components, fabrics such as wool, or environmental stimuli such as wind, cold, sun, or heat. These individuals can also have diffuse skin redness and/or blotchiness. Over half of the individuals who have sensitive skin also have dry skin. As a result, it's important to trust your skin to a facial skin specialist. Avoiding these irritants and moisturizing the skin form the cornerstone of treatment for these individuals. A hydrating daily skin care regimen including a gentle cleanser, a soothing toner mist, a moisturizing facial treatment that also reduces redness, and a hypoallergenic, PABA-free, fragrance-free sunscreen such as that found in our La Roche-Posay skin care line is recommended for this skin type. This combination of skin care products is also helpful to individuals with rosacea.

- Aging Skin
Aging Skin
Though we don't have the power to stop the aging process, there are several skin care products available that can help reverse the signs of aging and give you healthier, more youthful skin. As a result, it's important to trust your skin to a facial skin specialist. Daily skin care using medical grade products may be the most important aspect of cosmetic surgery as it enhances the results of cosmetic procedures by rejuvenating facial skin. Continued use of these products maintains and prolongs the effects of the cosmetic procedure and prevents early signs of aging including fine lines, brown spots, broken capillaries, skin redness, and coarse skin.
A daily skin care regimen including a gentle exfoliating cleanser, a restorative and hydrating toner, a moisturizing facial treatment, and a light, nongreasy sunscreen such as that in our La Roche-Posay skin care line is the minimum for aging skin. In addition, Dr. Majmundar recommends incorporating a daily prescription-strength skin treatment in the above regimen to prevent and reverse signs of premature aging including fine lines, brown spots, broken capillaries, skin redness, and coarse skin.
Combining your daily skin care regimen with a "no downtime" chemical peel every 4 weeks maximizes your skin's potential for optimum skin health and youthfulness. These peels improve skin tone, texture, and vibrancy. As an excellent exfoliant, they help soften fine lines, lighten brown spots, and control breakouts and acne. Even after a single treatment, patients realize an improvement; however, continued treatments on a monthly basis for a minimum of 4-6 months provide the greatest results. These peels are performed by Dr. Majmundar himself so he can assess your skin health on a monthly basis and tailor your treatment to your skin type.

- Facelift
Facelift (Rhytidectomy)
"How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?" - Carl Yastremski
Modern day facial plastic surgery still can't stop the aging process but we can help reverse the signs of aging by surgically restoring youthful contours. Children and young adults have smooth, round faces due to evenly distributed fatty tissues and elastic skin. Over time, fatty tissue is lost and the skin sags creating prominent folds in the chin, jawline and neck. Genetics, sun exposure, personal habits such as smoking, and gravity contribute to the aging of the face. As the aging population grows, it is obvious why facelift surgery, or rhytidectomy, has become the third most desired facial plastic surgical procedure.
Is A Facelift For You?
As with all facial plastic surgery, good health and realistic expectations are prerequisites. Skin type, ethnic background, degree of skin elasticity, individual healing, basic bone structure, as well as a realistic attitude are important factors that you will discuss with Dr. Majmundar.
Although successful facelift surgery has been performed in women in their late 30's to their late 80's, there is no perfect time to have a facelift. If you look in the mirror and the sagging of your cheeks (jowling) and your neck is bothersome, then it's a good time to consider a facelift. As with most things, the earlier you address these changes the better your results will be.
Facelifts are usually combined with tightening of the facial and neck muscles as well as neck liposuction to remove excess fat under the chin ("double chin"). In Dr. Majmundar's practice, he performs a Natural Facelift which avoids an overpulled or 'done' appearance. In his hands, the scars are virtually invisible after enough time has passed for them to mature. Your friends should be able to sit next to you and not tell that you've had a surgical procedure performed. A facelift can result in not only a youthful and well-rested appearance but can also increase self-confidence and improve your self-image.
Dr. Majmundar begins the incision in the area of the temple hair just above the ear then proceeds in front of the ear, around the earlobe, partially circling the ear and back into the hairline. We take the extra step and carry the incision behind the tragus (the flap of skin that hides the opening to your ear canal) before circling the earlobe to help hide the incisions even more. In all cases, the incision is placed where it would fall in a natural skin crease for camouflage. The incisions are then closed with fine sutures to reduce the chance of any visible scarring.
After Surgery
Even though most patients experience very little pain after surgery, Dr. Majmundar will still prescribe pain medication. Some degree of swelling and bruising is unavoidable but this can be minimized with medications to help shorten recovery. Recovery usually takes 10-14 days, though some patients go back to work in seven days with makeup. Makeup and sunscreen can be worn after 7 days and once your incisions have healed, you can wear your hair anyway you like.

- Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty
Every year, half a million people are interested in improving the appearance of their nose. Some are unhappy with the noses they were born with, and some with the way aging has changed their nose. For others, an injury may have distorted the nose, or the goal may be improved breathing. But one thing is clear: nothing has a greater impact on how a person looks than the size and shape of the nose. Because the nose is the most defining characteristic of the face, a slight alteration can greatly improve one's appearance.
Is Rhinoplasty For You?
Skin type, ethnic background, and age are important factors to be considered in discussions with Dr. Majmundar prior to surgery. Before the nose is altered, a young patient must reach full growth, usually around age fifteen or sixteen. Exceptions are cases in which breathing is severely impaired. As we age, the nasal tip tends to droop, the tip widens, and the hump on the nose enlarges which can affect not only appearance but also breathing.
Before deciding on rhinoplasty, ask if any additional surgery might be recommended to enhance the appearance of your face. Many patients have chin augmentation or eyelid surgery in conjunction with rhinoplasty to create a better balance of features.
Making The Decision For Rhinoplasty
Whether the surgery is desired for functional or cosmetic reasons, your choice of a qualified facial plastic surgeon is of paramount importance. Dr. Majmundar is trained in ear, nose, and throat surgery as well as facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, which provides you, the patient, with the highest level of training and expertise. Dr. Majmundar will examine the structure of your nose, both externally and internally, to evaluate what you can expect from rhinoplasty. You are most likely to be pleased with the results of your surgery if you have a realistic idea of what nasal surgery can and cannot do. We perform all of our surgeries in accredited outpatient surgery centers and we only use board certified MD anesthesiologists for your safety.
Understanding The Surgery
The definition of rhinoplasty is, literally, shaping the nose. The majority of incisions are made inside the nose so there are no scars on the face (No Scar Rhinoplasty). Dr. Majmundar is one of a few surgeons in Georgia who performs his rhinoplasties using this approach. In a few cases, an incision is made in the area of skin separating the nostrils. Next, certain amounts of underlying bone and cartilage are removed, added to, supported, or rearranged to provide a newly shaped structure. The tissues are then redraped over the new frame and the incisions are closed. A splint is applied to the outside of the nose to help retain the new shape while the nose heals.
What To Expect After The Surgery
Immediately after surgery, a small splint will be placed on your nose to protect it and to keep the structure stable for seven days. In the immediate days following surgery, you may experience bruising and minor swelling in the eye area. Cold compresses and keeping the head elevated often reduce the swelling, bruising and discomfort. Recovery, on average, varies from 7 -10 days.

- Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift)
Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
It has been said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Many Americans feel the same as over one hundred thousand men and women choose blepharoplasty every year to improve the appearance of their eyes. In 2006, blepharoplasty, or an eyelid lift, was the most commonly performed facial cosmetic surgical procedure in the country. Men represent 20% of the total.
Because of its thin skin, the eyes are one of the first areas to show aging and can appear as early as the late twenties or early thirties. Excess eyelid skin and puffiness can make you look older, tired, or even angry. Heavy upper eyelids can also impair vision. Blepharoplasty can help remove 'bags under the eyes', improve dark circles if caused by puffiness, remove excess skin and bulging fat, and soften fine lines and wrinkles. Blepharoplasty results in a more youthful, refreshed appearance with a younger, firmer eye.
Is Blepharoplasty Right For You?
As with all facial plastic surgery, good health and realistic expectations are prerequisites. During the pre-surgical consultation, you will be examined and asked questions regarding your vision, tear production, use of lenses, and your desires for surgery.
Blepharoplasty cannot improve a sagging eyebrow, crow's feet, or dark circles caused by sun damage or hormonal changes. In fact, performing an upper lid blepharoplasty without addressing the sagging brow may worsen the appearance of the brow and pull the eyebrow down even more. Many times, your facial plastic surgeon may also recommend a browlift or additional skin resurfacing to achieve the best results.
There are 2 types of blepharoplasty: upper lid and lower lid. Both can be performed under twilight or general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. In upper lid blepharoplasty, an incision is made in an upper lid crease in order to keep the scars as invisible as possible along these natural folds. Excess overhanging skin and bulging fat are removed. Fine sutures are used to close the incisions thereby minimizing the visibility of any scar. This results in a more defined lid crease and an open, refreshed appearance to the eye. Lower lid blepharoplasty can be performed in two ways. Most commonly, an external incision is made just below the eyelashes and bulging fat and excess skin are removed before the incision is closed with fine sutures. Alternatively, an internal incision can be made on the inside of the lower eyelid allowing removal of fat but not skin. This is more appropriate for younger patients who do not need redundant skin removed. The type of blepharoplasty you need depends on age, skin type, ethnic background, and degree of vision obstruction.
After the surgery, discomfort is controlled with ice packs and pain medicine. After the first 24 hours, most patients rely on Tylenol. You can also expect to have some swelling and bruising that will resolve, on average, 7-10 days after the procedure but can easily be covered with make-up or sunglasses.

- Ear Shaping
Ear Shaping (Otoplasty)
Children, long the victims of cruel nicknames like "Dumbo" or "Mickey Mouse," are the most likely candidates for otoplasty, but this surgery can be performed at any age after the ears have reached full size, usually around five to six years of age. Even if the ears are only mildly distorted, the condition can lead to self-consciousness and poor adaptation to school. When it comes to otoplasty, conventional wisdom is "the earlier the better". Adults may also benefit from this procedure, which improves self-esteem with relative ease.
Is Otoplasty For You?
Otoplasty will not alter hearing ability. What is important for successful otoplasty is that the ears be in proportion to the size and shape of the face and head. When considering otoplasty, parents must be confident that they have their child's best interests at heart. A positive attitude toward the surgery is an important factor in all facial plastic surgery, but it is especially critical when the patient is a child or adolescent.
A consultation with a facial plastic surgeon can help parents decide what is best for their child, not only aesthetically, but also psychologically and physically. Timing is always an important consideration. Having the procedure at a young age is highly desirable in two respects: the cartilage is extremely pliable, thereby permitting greater ease of shaping; and secondly, the child will experience psychological benefits from the cosmetic improvement.
Making The Decision For Otoplasty
During your consultation, Dr. Majmundar will examine the structure of the ears and discuss possibilities for correcting the problems. Even if only one ear needs "pinning back," surgery will probably be recommended on both ears to achieve the most natural, symmetrical appearance.
Following a thorough medical history, Dr. Majmundar will explain the kind of anesthesia required, surgical facility, and costs. Typically, he will suggest a general anesthesia for young patients and a local anesthetic combined with a mild sedative for older children and adults.
Understanding The Surgery
Surgery begins with an incision behind the ear in the natural fold where the ear joins the head. The necessary amounts of cartilage and skin required to achieve the right effect are removed. In some cases, the cartilage will be trimmed and shaped into a more desirable form and then pinned back with permanent sutures.
What To Expect After The Surgery
Soft dressings applied to the ears will remain for 24 hours. You will be asked to wear a head band at night to allow the ears to heal properly for 7-10 days. Most patients experience some mild discomfort. If you are accustomed to sleeping on your side, your sleep patterns may be disrupted for 10-14 days because you must sleep on your back and cannot put any pressure on the ears.

- Facial Scar Revision
Facial Scar Revision
Surgery of Facial Scars
With very few exceptions most people are self-conscious about facial scars. When the skin is in the process of recovering from an injury, whether the result of an accident, surgery, a burn, or acne, scarring will occur wherever multiple layers of the skin have been affected. Some people may also experience diminished functioning of the eyes, mouth, or nose due to scarring. Once a scar forms, it is permanent but may be made less visible or relocated surgically to improve your appearance, your self-confidence, or your level of facial functioning.
Is Facial Scar Treatment For You?
A person considering facial scar revision must understand that there is no way to remove scars completely. The goal is to improve the appearance of the scar either by disguising it, relocating it, or minimizing its prominence. Skin color and type, age, and the type of scarring, are all important factors that must be part of the discussion prior to surgery.
Different types of scars respond to different plastic surgery techniques. Timing of surgery is another important choice. Some surgeons advise against any scar revision in cases of injury for a period that might extend up to a year after the injury. This interval allows the body enough time to heal fully.
Making The Decision For Scar Treatment
Different scars require different treatments. Keloid scars are a result of the skin's overproduction of collagen after a wound has healed. These scars generally appear as growths in the scar site. Hypertrophic scars, unlike keloids, do not grow out of the boundaries of the scar area, but because of their thick, raised texture, can be unsightly and may also restrict the natural movement of muscles and tendons.
Some facial scars are unattractive simply because of where they appear on the face, while others affect facial expressions. All surgical possibilities will be discussed in the initial consultation along with risks involved for each type of scarring. The agreement between you and Dr. Majmundar on how to proceed is a prerequisite for successful surgery. After you both decide to proceed with scar revision, he will inform you about the anesthesia, the surgical facility, any supportive surgery options, and costs. Because scars are highly individualistic and the patient's attitude toward scars is so personal, maximum improvement in facial scars may require more than one procedure, and more than one technique may be employed.
Understanding The Surgery
Re-excising the scar and reapproximating the edges of the deeper tissues as well as the skin with fine sutures will help improve a widened or irregular scar. Dermabrasion and laser resurfacing are methods a surgeon uses to make "rough or elevated" scars less prominent, by removing part of the upper layers of skin with an abrading tool or laser light. This works well for acne scars. Clearly, the scar will remain, but it will be smoother and less visible. Z-plasty is a method to move a scar from one area to another, usually into a natural fold or crease in the skin to minimize its visibility. While Z-plasty does not remove all signs of a scar, it does make it less noticeable.
Keloid or hypertropic scars are often treated first with injections of steroids to reduce size. If this is not satisfactory, the scars can be removed surgically, and the incisions closed with fine stitches, often resulting in less prominent scars.
When a scar is of the contracture type, surgery generally involves removing the scar tissue entirely. Skin flaps, composed of adjacent healthy skin, are then lifted and moved to form a new incision line. Where a flap is not possible, a skin graft may be used. A graft involves taking a section of skin tissue from one area and attaching it to another.
What To Expect After The Surgery
You can expect to feel some discomfort after surgery but this can usually be controlled with Tylenol. Some swelling, bruising and redness are generally unavoidable though minor. It is important for you to follow your after care recommendations to the letter. Though the sutures will be removed within days after the surgery, Dr. Majmundar would like you to avoid any activity that may place undue stress on the incision. It is important to remember that scar tissues require a year or more to fully heal and achieve maximum improved appearance.

- Forehead Lift
Forehead Lift (Browlift) Surgery
Sun, wind, and the pull of gravity all affect the face, resulting in frown lines, wrinkling across the forehead, and an increasing heaviness of the eyebrows. Even people in their thirties may have faces that look older than their years. Your tired, angry, or sad expression may not reflect how you actually feel. As a result, many people have opted for a procedure known as the forehead lift, or browlift.
As with all elective surgery, good health and realistic expectations are prerequisites. When Dr. Majmundar tightens loose skin and removes the excess, forehead wrinkling and drooping brows are modified. If needed, we can remove part of the muscle that causes vertical frown lines between the brows. The result can be a smoother brow and a more youthful expression. To see what a forehead lift can do for your face, put your hands above your brows and outside the edges of your eyes and gently raise the skin upwards. Forehead lifts are an option if you have a sagging brow or deep furrows between the eyes. This procedure is usually done between age forty and sixty-five, although it may be necessary at an earlier age.
Is a Forehead Lift right for you?
Whether you are having surgery for functional or cosmetic reasons, your choice of a qualified facial plastic surgeon is of paramount importance. During your consultation, Dr. Majmundar will examine your facial structure, the condition of your skin, and your hairline in order to decide where incisions should be made. A thorough medical history will be obtained so that we can consider any medical conditions that may heighten surgical risks. Dr. Majmundar will then thoroughly discuss the procedure, risks, and alternatives to the procedure as well as the cost.
Dr. Majmundar usually performs an endoscopic browlift which uses a small camera and three small incisions placed just behind the hairline to bring the brow up. The advantage of this type of browlift is that once the incisions heal, they become inconspicuous. Although this technique may require more surgery time, it is less invasive and is associated with a smaller risk of scarring and temporary scalp numbness. If the patient has a receding hairline or is balding, other types of browlifts can be performed to hide the incisions and still achieve a natural lift.
What To Expect After The Surgery
Most patients experience a certain amount of swelling and bruising in the 7-10-day period following surgery. In a minority of patients, this may include the cheek and eye area as well as the forehead. Keeping your head elevated and applying cool compresses to your forehead and eyes will help reduce the swelling. Dr. Majmundar will also have you start on medications prior to surgery that will help reduce the amount of bruising and healing time to help reduce recovery. The sutures are usually removed within seven days. You will have a bandage around your forehead after surgery that is removed the following morning. For most patients, the recovery time will not exceed two weeks, but patients may still be advised to avoid strenuous activities for longer periods. Any prolonged bruising can be camouflaged with standard make-up techniques. Not infrequently, a brow lift is combined with a blepharoplasty (an eyelid tuck) or facelift to provide a harmonious rejuvenation.

- Lip Augmentation
Lip Augmentation
Want fuller lips? There are several procedures that can be performed in the office or under IV sedation that will help add volume to the lips. Most individuals desire a subtle to mild improvement in their lip size though any size can be attained.
When talking about lips, the celebrity Angelina Jolie generally comes to mind. Though many individuals love the lusciousness of her lips, few augment their lips to that size. Your lips should be in balance with the remainder of your face so that all facial features achieve harmony.
Lips can be augmented in the office under local anesthesia using cosmetic fillers. They can be used to add small to large amounts of volume and provide a natural feel with little downtime. Because the patient is only under local anesthesia, they can guide the surgeon as to how much more volume they want.
Permanent lip augmentation can be achieved using fat transfer (from the abdomen to the lips) or synthetic implants. Fat transfer provides a natural feel and small to large volume augmentation from a natural source; occasionally, a brief second treatment is needed. Synthetic implants provide larger volumes with a definite increase in size that will not change. Generally, these implants can be felt by you and others but cannot be seen providing consistent lip augmentation. These procedures are performed under IV sedation to increase comfort. Downtime varies from 7-10 days for permanent lip augmentation.

- Skin Resurfacing
Skin Resurfacing
Premature aging is more common now than ever before. Unfortunately, our frequent and sometimes purposeful exposure to the sun has taken its toll on our skin. The demand, among both men and women, to reverse the signs of sun damage is at an all time high.
Many patients have tried non-prescription skin products before they consult a facial skin specialist such as Dr. Majmundar. Skin resurfacing cannot produce perfect skin; however, even if you have never taken care of your skin, it can provide dramatic improvement in the skin's appearance. On the other hand, daily skin care, especially sun protection, maximizes your results and prevents further damage.
The choice of procedure is based on the type of skin damage, skin color, skin type, ethnic background, and your age.
Chemical Peels
The 4 basic categories are: very superficial, superficial, medium-depth, and deep peels.
Very superficial peels, known as facials, are commonly found in day spas and med spas.
Superficial peels have little to no downtime and are commonly referred to as "lunchtime peels". We offer only medical grade superficial peels that improve overall skin tone, texture, and vibrancy. These are ideal skin enhancing treatments for busy individuals who cannot afford the downtime of deeper skin resurfacing techniques, such as laser resurfacing or dermabrasion, but still want to improve their overall skin health and appearance. As an excellent exfoliant, they help soften fine lines, remove brown spots, and control break outs and acne. Even after a single treatment, patients realize an improvement; however, continued treatments on a monthly basis for a minimum of 4-6 months provide the greatest results. These popular peels are a great addition to any skin care regimen and can be performed on any skin type including sensitive or dark skin with minimal downtime and tangible results.
Medium-depth peels require mild sedation and are performed as a single procedure. For individuals with sun damaged skin, brown spots, fine to mild lines and wrinkles, and coarse skin, medium depth peels provide an excellent option for a fresh start with newer, healthier skin. It also helps individuals who have precancerous skin lesions or recurrent skin cancers. Downtime ranges between 4-7 days and the treatment can be repeated every 6-12 months.
Deep peels require more sedation and have 10-14 days of downtime followed by several weeks of mild redness that can be covered with makeup. They work well for moderate to severe wrinkling, severe sun damage and brown spots, and very coarse skin. Because newer technology, such as laser resurfacing, provides similar results with less downtime, few patients undergo this procedure.
Dermabrasion
Unlike microdermabrasion which is performed in many spas as a superifical mechanical exfoliator, dermabrasion uses a rotating brush to go slightly deeper to remove the top layers of skin either under local anesthesia or IV sedation. Dermabrasion works very well for smoothing out lines around the mouth (lipstick lines) and chin as well as smoothing out acne scars and traumatic scars. It can also be used over the entire face to reduce lines and wrinkles as an excellent resurfacing technique. Downtime averages between 7 - 10 days followed by a fresh rosy complexion for 1-2 weeks which can very easily be covered by makeup.
Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing helps reduce moderate to severe wrinkling over the entire face helping to tighten underlying collagen, remove blemishes and brown spots, and smooth coarse skin without making an incision. This treatment truly provides the patient with a completely fresh start with younger, tighter skin. It is performed with IV sedation and the downtime lasts 7-10 days followed by a fresh rosy complexion for 4-6 weeks afterwards which can easily be covered with makeup.

- Chin Surgery
Chin Surgery
The chin is a major part of one's profile. When people look in the mirror, they focus on the size and shape of their eyes, noses, ears, sagging jowls, or fine wrinkles. They are less likely to notice an unbalanced chin. Surgeons who specialize in rhinoplasty, or surgery of the nose, such as Dr. Majmundar, are often the first to suggest that changes in chin size or shape may enhance a profile as much as a rhinoplasty. It is common for the facial plastic surgeon to recommend chin surgery in addition to nose surgery when he sees that chin augmentation is necessary to achieve facial balance and harmony.
Is Chin Surgery For You?
A harmonious profile can be achieved by inserting an implant to advance a receding chin, or by reducing the bone to correct a prominent chin. The result can be greater facial balance, an increase in self-confidence, and an improved self-image. Another possibility for improvement through chin surgery is liposuction of the neck in which excess fatty tissue is removed to sculpt the chin and neckline.
Making The Decision For Chin Surgery
During your consultation, Dr. Majmundar will thoroughly examine your chin and jaw. Occasionally, he will suggest chin surgery as a supplement to rhinoplasty because a small chin can make the nose look larger. Other factors that could influence the outcome of surgery include age, skin type, and your attitudes toward surgery.
Understanding the Surgery
Dr. Majmundar begins his chin augmentation by making an incision either in the natural crease just under the chin or inside the mouth, where gum and lower lip meet. By gently stretching this tissue, Dr. Majmundar creates a space where an implant can be placed. This implant, made of synthetic material that feels much like natural tissue normally found in the chin, is available in a wide variety of sizes and shapes. This allows custom fitting of the implant to the patient's face. When the incision is inside the mouth, no scarring is visible. If the incision is under the chin, the scar is usually imperceptible. In chin reduction surgery, incisions are made either in the mouth or under the chin. The surgeon sculpts the bone to a more pleasing size.
If neck liposuction is further needed to redefine the neckline and chin, it can be performed at the same time through the same incision made just under the chin. If the chin augmentation or reduction is performed through the mouth, then a small quarter of an inch incision is made in the natural crease line just under the chin to perform the liposuction.
What To Expect After The Surgery
Immediately after surgery, a dressing is applied that will remain in place for approximately 24 hours. A chin strap will be provided to you to wear as much as possible for the following week. Recovery usually takes 7 - 10 days but some patients can return to work after 7 days with makeup. Post-operative discomfort is controlled with pain medications but usually improves after the first 3-5 days. To minimize movement of the tissue overlying the chin, a liquid and soft food diet is recommended for a few days as is minimal contact and trauma to the new chin. Most patients feel a stretched, tight sensation after chin augmentation, but this usually subsides in a week. Liposuction performed at the same time usually does not prolong the patient's recovery.

- MicroPeels
MicroPeels

- Botox Cosmetic
Botox Cosmetic (nonsurgical procedure)
Botox Cosmetic can soften or even eliminate facial lines or wrinkles with one treatment. It's no wonder that it is the number one performed cosmetic procedure in the United States. Its popularity stems from the quick and simple treatment which yields results in a few days with virtually no downtime and minimal discomfort.
Botox works well for forehead lines, lines between the brows, or lines around the eyes (crow's feet). It is relatively inexpensive compared to other cosmetic treatments and yields good results with every treatment with little risk. Combining the predictable results with the short treatment time makes this an ideal cosmetic enhancement for busy individuals who can take very little time from work or for individuals who want to experience ("try something new" or "see what plastic surgery is all about") the benefits of a cosmetic procedure for the first time.
Botox is a purified protein from the Botulism toxin that is used in small amounts to relax facial muscles. The results of the treatment last as much as 4 months and can last longer with further treatments. Botox can be combined with other minimally invasive procedures such as wrinkle fillers, treatments for broken capillaries, treatment of brown spots / moles / skin tags, and no downtime facial peels to provide an in-office enhancement in as little as one visit known as our Nonsurgical Facelift for an overall refreshed and rejuvenated appearance and healthy glowing skin.
After a Botox Cosmetic treatment, you may have some mild redness and temporary swelling. A very small percentage of patients can experience some bruising with the treatment.

- Restylane and Juvederm
Restylane and Juvederm
Fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm, are FDA approved for the treatment of facial wrinkles and folds and are one of the most sought after and most performed minimally invasive cosmetic treatments in the United States second only to Botox Cosmetic. Restylane and Juvederm, composed of hyaluronic acid, are considered thin fillers and are good for replacing lost volume in thinner regions of the face such as the lips and around the eyes but they may be used to provide volume to other areas of the face. They are also good for filling finer lines and depressed scars.
Lips are a great place to use fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm. These treatments provide a plumping effect and help smooth the lines around the lips, mouth, and chin while adding volume to the lips. They are also quite effective around the eyes to minimize lower eyelid puffiness and some dark circles.
Unlike collagen, today's cosmetic fillers can be used without skin testing for an allergic reaction and last 2 to 3 times longer than collagen (on average, 6 to 12 months).
Patients should refrain from all aspirin and aspirin containing products as well as any anti-inflammatory agents such as ibuprofen for a minimum of 7 days prior to treatment.
As with all fillers, patients may experience temporary redness, swelling, or bruising. You will be provided with an ice pack after your treatment to use the remainder of the day and asked not to manipulate the treated areas with your fingers. You may use your makeup and sunscreen immediately after treatment.

- Radiesse
Radiesse
Unlike other facial fillers, RADIESSE continues to work over time. With its patented microsphere technology, it starts a process called collagenesis, stimulating your body to produce new collagen and encouraging collagen to grow around the injection area. RADIESSE dermal filler actually helps your body create its own naturally younger look, setting a new standard in facial contouring and augmentation. The benefits of treatment with RADIESSE dermal filler may last up to a year or more.
Radiesse can be used to add volume to laugh lines, smile lines, upper and mid cheek tissues, and the chin. It can also be used to smooth minor nasal humps. Because it is slightly more viscous, it provides much more volume than thinner fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm. The treatment provides immediate results and can be performed in less than an hour. No skin testing is required.
As with all fillers, patients may experience temporary redness, swelling, or bruising. You will be provided with an ice pack after your treatment to use the remainder of the day and asked not to manipulate the treated areas with your fingers. You may use your makeup and sunscreen immediately after treatment.

- Sculptra
Sculptra
SculptraŽ is not just a wrinkle filler, it is also a facial volumizer. Using Sculptra, we can restore youthful facial contours by filling under the skin so that it inflates or "lifts" the facial tissues. Also known as the "Liquid Facelift", Sculptra does this by the formation of your body's own collagen.collagen that is created by surrounding the microscopic particles that make up Sculptra. It provides global rejuvenation to the temples, laugh lines, sagging cheek tissues, and around the eyes. Also, the volume enhancement achieved by Sculptra lasts at least 2 years but may last longer. No skin testing is required.
Sculptra does not give results immediately. There is a time factor involved since the true volume effect is created by your own collagen, not the product itself. Some patients achieve the desired results as quickly as 3 months though it may take up to 6 months for most patients. Most patients need 2-3 treatments spread 8-10 weeks apart. You can expect the results to last at least 2 years from the last treatment.
As with all other injections there can be temporary swelling, redness, and bruising. Other risks include the temporary but rare appearance of small bumps that can be felt, but usually not seen, which resolve spontaneously over a period of weeks. You will be provided with an ice pack after your treatment to use the remainder of the day and asked to massage the treated areas several times a day. You may use your makeup and sunscreen immediately after treatment.

- Latisse - Eyelash Enhancer
Latisse - Now you can grow longer, fuller, and darker eyelashes.
Get ready for a new innovation in lashes.
LATISSET (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is the first and only prescription treatment approved by the FDA for inadequate or not having enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker.
LATISSET works effectively.
LATISSET makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is not known, research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the percent of hairs in, and the duration of, the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker and darker because bimatoprost can also prolong this growth phase.
Clinically proven results you can see over time.
LATISSET is FDA approved and effective. It's a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes. Patients may see results in as few as 4 weeks with full results after 12 to 16 weeks.
Can I get a prescription for Latisse from any doctor?
First, ask your Facial Plastic Surgeon if Latisse is right for you. Although any physician can write prescriptions you owe it to yourself to check with the experts in the facial plastic surgery field.
What are the possible side-effects of Latisse?
The most common side effects after using Latisse are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or redness. This was reported in approximately 4% of patients. Latisse solution may cause other less common side effects which typically occur on the skin close to where Latisse is applied, or in the eyes. These symptoms resolved after discontinuing Latisse

- Facial Vein Removal
Facial Vein Removal
A popular in-office procedure, facial vein removal can help eliminate unsightly spider veins on your face or other parts of your body. The treatment is quick with minimal discomfort or recovery time. It can often be done at the same time as your consultation with immediate results. Most individuals need only one treatment, but depending on the number of veins, a brief second visit may be required.
Radiosurgery treatment for facial vein removal uses radio frequency energy to eliminate facial spider veins. Radiosurgery is the passage of ultra high-frequency radio waves into the skin to gently remove facial veins. Unlike lasers and cautery, radiosurgery precisely targets each specific vessel minimizing damage to surrounding tissue.
Patients may experience minimal discomfort and temporary redness and swelling. Bruising is very rare. Most facial vessels are stimulated by ultraviolet radiation; as such, sunscreen use is a must after treatment for proper healing and to prevent further spider veins from appearing.
